What is the Mezmoglobe made from?
Each globe is precision machined out of solid piece of aerospace grade Aluminum. The surface is then smoothly sanded and anodized to achieve the 5 beautiful colors.
What is the size and weight of Mezmoglobe?
The diameter of each globe is 54 mm and the weight is 170 grams. We specially designed it in the size and weight that would feel very nice and solid when holding in your palm.
Where it is made?
Each globe is carefully crafted and assembled by our own team in our local workshop in European Union.
How can it spin?
Each globe is equipped with a high quality bearing inside and stands on a rotating base. Simply turn it with your fingers and it will rotate absolutely quietly.
How long it spins?
Depending on how strong you spin the Mezmoglobe it will rotate from 10- 30 seconds with a single spin. Mezmoglobe is an object of visual satisfaction and we have found that the optical illusion is much more effective with a silent rotation.
Bearing is a very specific part so we specially hand-pick and test every single one before putting inside the globe. We are purposely using a slightly oiled bearings instead of dry ones. Even if the oil prevents from achieving the super long spinning times it ensures that the rotation will be super silent enhancing the mesmerizing optical illusion. Dry bearings spin longer but they are much louder and therefore interfere with the optical effect. As a designer of the original product I chose to go with the silent version. This is also something that distinguishes the original Mezmoglobe from any copycat or similar product in the market.
For this reason we have specially made the Mezmoglobe bearing easily accessible. If you are aiming for a super long rotation and are not bothered for the rotation to be a bit noisy you will be able to play with different kind of bearings. Full instructions on how to access and change the bearings can be found HERE
Does each globe comes with the Zipper case?
Yes, each Mezmoglobe is placed in the handy and durable black zipper case.
